Located on Hoi An Memories Island—a lush green gem in the middle of the Hoai River—the Hoi An Memories Show has become not only the island’s signature attraction but also a new cultural icon of Hoi An itself. Since its premiere on March 18, 2018, the show has ignited an artistic revolution, becoming the largest outdoor visual spectacle in the world. The World’s Largest Outdoor Live Performance
As the first and largest outdoor live show in Vietnam, Hoi An Memories offers a spectacular “feast for the eyes.” Set on a colossal 25,000 square meter stage—almost a kilometer long—it brings to life ancient Hoi An through immersive visuals, historical architecture, and natural scenery.
More than 500 performers bring the story to life with synchronized choreography, elaborate costumes, and emotionally driven performances. The show uses state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems to create a mesmerizing atmosphere under the open sky. Its monumental scale earned it recognition from the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records.

Act 2: The Wedding
This majestic act reenacts the wedding of Princess Huyen Tran, who was married to the Champa King Che Man. Her sacrifice—exchanging her youth and love for peace—secured the regions of Chau O and Chau Ly for Dai Viet.
This act is a visual masterpiece, evoking royal pageantry with grandeur. From a stately elephant-led bridal procession to hundreds of performers in regal attire, every detail is crafted to immerse the audience in the 9th–10th century world of political alliances and cultural exchanges.

Act 3: Lights and the Sea
This act tells a poignant love story between a girl and her lover, a sailor who often sails far away for trade. It’s a tale of longing, patience, and eternal love—a metaphor for Hoi An’s deep relationship with the sea.
Set in the 16th–17th centuries during Hoi An’s peak as a maritime hub, the performance evokes the gentle heartbreak of distance. The girl releases floating lanterns each night on the Hoai River, wishing for her lover’s safe return.
Act 4: The Harbor
This act recreates the golden age of Hoi An as a bustling international port in the 18th and 19th centuries. Ships from Japan, China, and Europe arrive daily, bringing exotic goods and new cultures.
